Progress

If you’ve been with me for a while, you might remember two things. I won’t be hurt if you don’t! They’re not relevant to your life, yet.

The first is that I’ve been mentioning a soon-to-be released album of originals, hymns, and spiritual songs, and I’ve been blabbing about it seemingly forever. (Ed.: only 7 years. You talked about Drivin’! for a full 15 years before you recorded it, so this is trivial.) (Me: thanks, editor! Appreciate the confidence!)

The second is that back in 2020 I did a short Facebook stream that included my version of Old Hundredth, one of the arrangements to go on the aforementioned album.

Well, now that I’m playing piano more, I’ve changed that arrangement, and I love love love the new version. I’ve changed some of the other music too. I’m very energized about this music, it travels to many interesting musical and emotional destinations.

Which is simply to say:

I’m making progress, and Meditations of My Heart will definitely happen.

(I just have to work out some tricksy Bach, and figure out where to place the title track, which is in Db, a key quite removed from all the other keys on this album.)

Possible CD cover.
